about mandalas
"It became increasingly plain to me that the mandala is the centre. It is the exponent of all paths. It is the path to the centre, to individuation."
―Carl Jung
about mandalas
Mandala means "sacred circle" in Sanskrit. These beautiful, ornate circles have been in existence for centuries, captivating people across generations, religions and cultures.
Psychologist Carl Jung is credited with introducing mandalas to the Western World. He notably used them with his patients as a tool for self-discovery.
Believed to encourage wellness, mandalas can be used for meditation and relaxation purposes. In recent years, they seem to have found a niche in popular culture, showing up in art and on t-shirts. And you can find a version of a mandala coloring book in most arts and craft stores.
