animandala cards
inspiration for the cards
My AniMandala message card deck has been several years in the making, and is truly a passion project. I am so happy that I finally have enough drawings to make a full deck, and can hold the cards in my hands.
I have always loved collecting cards and card decks because they combine two of my favorite things: writing and art. I am so excited to be able to share this very personal deck, which contains my original artwork, designs, and written content, with others.
I chose to work with my animal-themed mandalas because they are universally relatable, beloved, and apolitical. Like mandalas, they are very subjective, and carry many different meanings, depending on the culture, context, and person.
As the artist, I really enjoyed crafting a special message to go with each card. But the cards don’t belong to me, so I welcome anyone who holds these cards to find their own unique and timely wisdom in them.
how to use these cards
Whether we notice them or not, we receive messages from the universe all day long. Mandalas are no exception, and can offer a window into the viewer’s soul.
I am offering some suggestions about how to use these cards, but there really are no rules.
1. Pull a card and pay attention to your initial instinctual reaction. What does it mean to you, on this particular day in your life?
For example, why might a fox be coming to you today? Or look at the symbols, colors, and shapes in the drawing. What do they mean to you?
If the card doesn’t resonate for whatever reason, feel free to pull another. The idea is that you will select the card you need today, that carries a message of hope, wisdom, comfort, or insight.
2. Hold a question in your mind when pulling a card. Then, ask the card what specific wisdom or insight it has for you. Your intuition should kick in and fill in the blanks.
