symbol mandalas

“There are patterns which emerge in one's life, circling and returning anew, an endless variation of a theme.”
―Jacqueline Carey

abstract mandalas

The abstract mandala series of original drawings feature a variety of symbols, icons, and concepts. They set a mood and tone with color and line but aren’t committed to a central object or theme like some of the other mandalas.

Because they aren’t fully formed, developed or you might say “conscious,” they comprise the bottom layer of the mandala hierarchy. These ornate and intricate drawings invite the imagination to fill in the blanks and discover its own meaning. What do you see? How does it make you feel?

If you look closely, you may detect some not-so-hidden Mickeys. I have been starting to include hidden Mickeys in some of the other drawings for fun, too. I love their iconic use of three circles. It reminds me of some of the really beautiful trinity symbols I have seen.

Three carries very positive connotations, which I associate with Walt Disney and Walt Disney World. I’m a huge Disney fan, and believe in the power of pixie dust.
